El diseño del MOOC TKT Módulo 1 está orientado a proporcionar los conocimientos fundamentales sobre la naturaleza del lenguaje y los principios que sustentan su aprendizaje y enseñanza. Este módulo permite al docente consolidar su comprensión teórica del sistema lingüístico del inglés y del proceso de adquisición de una segunda lengua.

El estudio de este módulo integra el análisis de los componentes del idioma gramática, léxico y fonología así como el desarrollo de la terminología técnica necesaria para describir fenómenos lingüísticos y situaciones didácticas con precisión. Asi mismo, se abordan las habilidades comunicativas (reading, listening, speaking y writing) y sus subhabilidades, enfatizando su aplicación en contextos de enseñanza.

Durante su preparación, el docente profundiza en los factores que influyen en el aprendizaje, las diferencias individuales de los estudiantes, el papel del error dentro del proceso formativo y los principios de corrección y retroalimentación. El módulo favorece una comprensión estructurada y progresiva del conocimiento pedagógico esencial que sustenta la práctica docente.

El dominio de los contenidos del MOOC TKT Módulo 1 fortalece la base conceptual del profesor de inglés, permitiéndole tomar decisiones didácticas fundamentadas y coherentes con los principios de adquisición de la lengua.
